Called RSVP 05, the exhibition is a first for Australia and for
two days it will house under one roof some of the most sought
after products and services in the event industry. To top it off
organisers of the exhibition, Single Market Events, plan to make
it a highly interactive show giving visitors a chance to see,
touch, and try out the exhibits. Show manager Timara Kay said
she expects 120 exhibitors covering catering, corporate
hospitality, entertainment, event management, invitations,
corporate gifts, floral designs, lighting and AV, staging,
themeing, venues, beverages, photography and equipment hire.
“We’ve listened to what people want to see, hear and learn
about.” She said Single Market Events is aiming to make RSVP
different to normal trade fairs. “Coming to RSVP will be a
much more interactive and refreshing experience,” Miss Kay said.
“People will be able to come and sample canapés from caterers
they are thinking of using, or see and hear bands they might
want to hire for an event. An exhibition is a great environment
for that to go on.” There will also be seminars covering a
range of topics including a discussion panel called Front Page
Events.

This will feature a vjournalist, publicist and photographer who
will talk about how event holders go about getting media
coverage. “We’re just trying to make it fresh and different to
some of the subjects that everyone’s heard before.”
Another
workshop will centre around styling an event and will include
speakers from a venue, and an interior design company who will
give tips about themeing.
“Sometimes it’s not appropriate to bring in an event manager
because of fees so they’ll talk about simple but effective ways
of styling tables and different looks that can be achieved.” The
exhibition was first launched by Single Market Events in London
four years ago and grew so much since its inception, the company
decided to launch it in Australia.
“It’s the key exhibition for the event industry. We saw an
opportunity to do something here given the fact that the
industry had grown so much in Australia with new suppliers and
ideas. “It’s the sort of industry where people want to be able
to meet with suppliers before they use them – they want that
face-toface contact which an exhibition is great for.” The
Australian exhibition is being held at Wharf 8, on June 1 and 2
while the United Kingdom event is held at Olympia in London on
April 5 to 7.

on offer and the bartending is all about the service, Mr Faraone
says. The bar can be shaped to suit any client needs and including
running water, ice and all other facets of a permanent bar. For more
