Statistics released by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) last month show Australia fell three spots to 16th place in the worldwide country rankings, while Sydney jumped four spots to snag the final place in the top 20 city rankings.

In 2013 Australia held 231 international association meetings, compared to 253 the previous year, while Sydney rose from 86 to 93 meetings in 2013, which puts the city on par with Stockholm and Bangkok. Sydney was the only Australian city to be among the world’s top 20.
