Australia’s new ultra-luxury private island resort, One&Only Hayman Island, started welcoming guests today.

Set in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, the iconic resort is reborn as part of the exclusive One&Only collection after an $80 million dollar investment and introduces new suite accommodation, redesigned spaces and restaurants, new adult and family experiences and introduces the renowned One&Only service standards to Australia.

“The transformational refurbishment combined with One&Only’s innovation and commitment to delivering an extraordinary level of service will redefine luxury travel in Australia,” Mulpha executive chairman and owner of the resort, Seng Huang Lee, said at today’s opening.

Mr Seng Huand Lee was joined by Kerzner International CEO, Alan Leibman, and president and chief operating officer of One&Only Resorts, Mark DeCocinis, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony as the first guests arrived.

“We are excited to begin welcoming guests to One&Only Hayman Island, our first resort in the Asia Pacific region,” Mr Leibman said.

“The combination of this incredible private island in the Great Barrier Reef, the significant investment of $80 million made by our fantastic partners, Mulpha, and our own One&Only team dedicated to providing guests with amazing experiences through our unique brand of service, represents an exciting addition to the luxury Australian travel market.

“We are confident that the new One&Only experience will bring more Australians and international guests to the Great Barrier Reef.”
