Sofitel is Accor’s deluxe brand, and in the past two years has expanded to become Asia Pacific’s largest – and most stylish – luxury hotel group, with recent launches in Brisbane, Queenstown and Fiji, while four Sofitels in French Polynesia have just been completely revamped and relaunched. Nick Clarke, Accor’s MICE manager, says the expansion of the Sofitel brand has been particularly welcomed by MICE organisers looking for that unique French touch and outstanding service.
In Queensland, two Sofitels were launched in 2005 – Sofitel Brisbane is a MICE favourite and now has the city’s finest executive lounge, while Sofitel Gold Coast takes advantage of a prime location in the heart of Broadbeach.

Sofitel Melbourne provides luxury at the “Paris end” of Collins Street, with a pillarless ballroom for 650 for banquets or 1000 for cocktail receptions – plus numerous meeting rooms.

Sofitel Wentworth Sydney has maintained its number one status in the MICE sector with its magnificent pillarless ballroom – and range of smaller hi-tech meeting rooms.

There are now seven Sofitels in Australia, including the historic Grand Hotel Melbourne, with its stately proportions and stylish new champagne bar, the unique Mansion Hotel at Werribee Park, with its adjacent winery and open range zoo, and Cairns’ leading hotel, the Sofitel Reef Casino which boasts excellent dining and gaming options plus a spectacular rainforest dome complete with unique flora and fauna.

Sofitel Queenstown offers an oasis of luxury, targeting small meetings and incentive groups.
Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa on Denarau Island offers the largest and most sophisticated conference venue in Fiji. It joins Sofitel’s Vomo Island Resort – one of the Pacific’s most stunning and exclusive island resorts and a long-time favourite for up-market incentive groups.

Book Sofitel for the best French rewards
Conference and function organisers who book and confirm events at Sofitels in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji (minimum AU$15,000) before January 31, 2007 go into a draw to win a luxury holiday for two – Four nights at the elegant Sofitel Le Faubourg Paris and four nights at Sofitel Miramar Biarritz on the Basque Coast. Business Class flights courtesy of Air France. In addition, each confirmed booking will have a choice of a French-style Sofitel gift at the conclusion of the event.
